Acid Garden is an episodic piece that explores possible scenarios that could occur if a group of dancers went into a botanical garden while on acid. This situation inspired the movement, choreographic structure, and music selections. Through an "on acid" lense Acid Garden investigates the relationship between technical virtuousity and personal expression by using pointe shoes as symbols. The piece shows a journey from being confined by the bounds of technique to finding personal freedom with technique through rebellion.
